Washout
The Columbus Day weekend, it’ll be no surprise to anyone in this neck of the woods, was a pretty total washout. No biking (although I really could have, a couple of times, if we hadn’t had other things going on), no kayaking (the rivers are raging and nasty, and even our lake nearly flooded the road), not much else outside. A ballet performance at the local apple festival, a pleasant afternoon shopping with my elder one, some general around-the-house stuff, and that was about it. Ordered my bike rollers so I can stay on top of things this winter (or even weekends like this one, when I just didn’t want to be the only bike on the road). As brilliant as September was for biking, October has so far been dismal. Last week, there was too much fog to bike in safely. This week, there’s plenty of rain and I have to drive for meetings in Saratoga, anyway. So here’s hoping it dries up this coming weekend.
I think I finally got all the Daily Orange stuff straightened out; thanks for all the gentle corrections. Hey, after all these years, I’m stunned I remembered as many people as I did. I was very busy shedding brain cells in those years. Try to keep that in mind.
