Death notice undated. Probably 1960. Died aged 71, of 213 Forest Ave., Amsterdam. 27 years as custodian in Amsterdam schools, retired 1958. Survived by wife, May Hughes Cath, brother, Henry N. Cath, two aunts, several cousins. In Fairview Cemetery, Amsterdam.

Obit says he was survived by two aunts.

He’s in the 1930 federal census for Amsterdam, with wife Mamie and mother Hattie. He was 39 years old (mark on scan), was 23 when married. He rented for $30/month, had a radio, was a weaver in the carpet mill. Mamie, who had married at 20 and was now 37, was a “setter”in the mill.5

In the 1913 Amsterdam City Directory he is listed with May. He is a weaver living at 20 Grand.
In the 1917 Amsterdam City Directory he and May are living at 27 Van Derveer (listed as home), where Jacob and Harriet Cath also reside. He is still a weaver.
