http://www.greenheart.com/rdietz/peck.txt says:

William PECK (1601 - 4 October 1694)

He arrived at Boston harbor on 26 June 1637 aboard the ship "Hector". He
came with his wife and eldest son. He was one of the founders of the
settlement at New Haven where he was made an original proprietery freeman
on 29 October 1640. His will was dated 9 March 1689. He died at the home
of his son, Joseph, in Lyme. He was a merchant, rather than a farmer.

This runs counter to another list of the Hector for that same arrival, which does not show a Peck.

Hi All,

Found something today that was really interesting.. Am anxious to hear
what any/all of you have heard or read regarding this tie. By the way, I
found this reference by accident while looking for Peck info. There was
no index in this book.. So of course no cross referencing there.

Everyone knows/ assumes that William Peck was b @ 1601 near or in London
England. So far all I have seen is that his 1st wife was Elizabeth
UNKNOWN.. She being the mother of his children.. Jeremiah b in England
the rest in America.

Also we know that William arrived in Boston 26 Jun 1637 aboard the ship
Hector,, going to the Colony of CN in the spring of 1638.. Signed the
Fundamental Agreement 04 Jun 1639..

I'm just going to type word for word here & would really like to know
what else is known about this.

>From the book "Catalogue of the Names of the First Puritan Settlers of
the Colony of CN; with the time of their arrival in the colony, and
their standing in society, together with their place of residence, as
far as can be discovered by the records."
Collected from the state & town records, by;; R. R, Hinman.. Baltimore
Genealogical Publishing Company 1968

"Basley, John, was in the land division in 1639--- died in 1671--- his
children were, Mary Burr, Lydia and Elizabeth---Elizabeth married Mr.
Peck..."

Now at this time of 1639 wasn't William the only one with a wife named
Elizabeth that was in the Colony of CN???? If so, then this could be
the Elizabeth Unknown..

This information was not listed in the Peck portion of the book. HMMMMMM

Does anyone else have more information on this Elizabeth ???

Thanks,
Mary

CJ -- this is probably the same as another William Peck, but married differently.
