Misc. Notes
She was the head of household in 1860 (census spelled it Francis), listed as 44, Female, Farmer, with real estate value of $5000 and personal estate value of $1132. It was also checked that she had gotten married in the previous year, but there is no evidence of the husband, and her children were old enough that she must have been previously married. Children living with her were William A., Cornelius I?, Caroline J., Charles E., Sarah E.23

In the 1870 federal census, (which also spelled it Francis), she is the head of household, keeps house, with real estate valued at $5000 and personal estate at $1000. She gave her place of birth as England, and checked both father and mother as of foreign birth. Her children, living with her (William, Cornelius, Carolin, Charles and Sarah) also listed their parents as foreign, so her husband must have been of foreign birth, likely English. If that’s where she picked up the Seaman name, they’re likely not a direct relation.29
