Misc. Notes
“Louis H. Peck, son of Joshua and Zelida Ann (Farnham) Peck was born and raised in the town of Jay, New York. As a young man, Louis worked at the Lozier Auto Factory in Plattsburgh, New York as a molder with his younger brother, Joshua, until the factory closed in 1914. Louis met and married Nellie May Gero in Malone, New York. Later on he took a job as a lumberjack. This was hard work and at times kept him from his family for as much as 3 weeks at one time. He also worked as a greenskeeper at the Lake Placid club and at the Stevens House. In 1944 at the age of 56, Louis and his family moved to the state of Massachusetts and took a job at the Chapman Valve Company in Indian Orchard, near the town of Springfield. Using his past experience from the Lozier Auto Factory, he again worked as a molder. Louis died at Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts on October 20, 1956. His wife Nellie passed away on December 31, 1985.”96
