Misc. Notes
Warren Blakesley, son of Amasa Blakesley and Mary Kellogg, was born 23 February 1806 (presumably at Paris) in Oneida County, New York. In 1829, he was elected the first Constable of Venice Township in Seneca County, Ohio.   And, he was listed in the federal census there the following year.

On 1 March 1848, Warren was granted 40 acres of land in McHenry County, Illinois.   His eldest son, purchased a similar tract just seven miles away during the following month.   He was listed as a resident of that county in the 1850 Census.

By 1870, Warren was living at Bear Creek in Poweshiek County, Iowa.  And, in 1880, he was living at Highlands in Gage County, Nebraska.

Warren married firstly to Hannah Peck, daughter of Philo Peck and Sarah Ann Priest, who was born in New York about 1809.  She died of consumption in January 1850, in Mc Henry County, Illinois.

Warren quickly remarried on 20 June 1850 to Betsey Miracle of Boone County, Illinois, who was born in New York about 1829.   She died soon thereafter, and he married thirdly on 31 December 1857 to Mrs. Frances Ann Payne (nee Burland) of Boone County, who was born in Pennsylvania in 1825.

Warren died 23 November 1882, and was buried at Highlands Center Cemetery in Gage County, Nebraska.

Warren Blakesley had fifteen children, ten by his first wife Hannah, two by his second wife Betsey, and three by his third wife Frances:

i. Amasa Blakesley, III (1828-1874) - my ancestor.  Married Eliza Swan.

v. Lovinia Blakesley, born 1838 in Illinois.

Eliza Blakesley, born 1840 in McHenry County, Illinois.   She married Theodore Blake of Cedar Falls in Black Hawk County, Iowa, some time prior to the 1860 Census.  He was born in New York, about the year 1837.   Eliza apparently died prior to 1880, when Mr. Blake is found in the census records of Lester in Black Hawk County with his second wife Mary.  Eliza had two known children.

viii. Alonzo Peck Blakesley, born 1843 in McHenry County, Illinois.   He was a butcher by trade and married a woman named Matilda, who was born about 1859 in Iowa.  They settled in Nodaway County, Missouri, and lived with Alonzo's uncle Henry Peck.
