In the 1880 census, an Ellen Nichols is living with Jesse Corey and family. Listed as granddaughter, white female, age 15.794 Given the age and name, I’m guessing she was the daughter of Robert and Ellen. Perhaps her mother died in childbirth.

Adirondack Daily Enterprise, April 15, 1954:
Mrs. A. Parsons dies at home
Mrs. Anslem Parsons, of 47-1/2 Main st., died at her home this morning after an illness of about a week.
She was born May 29, 1865, in Saranac Lake, the daughter of Robert and Ellen Corey Nichols. Mrs. Parsons was the granddaughter of Jesse Corey who owned and operated the Rustic Lodge at Corey and for whom the town was named.
Her husband, the late Anslem Parsons, was a noted guide in the North Country and superintendent of camps for the E.P. Swetsons. They were married March, 1887, in the village, at St. Luke’s Church.
They had five children, three of whom live in Saranac Lake. They are Mrs. Ella Horton, Mrs. Charles Green and Mrs. Ralph Hutchins, all of 47 Main st. There is one grandchild, Mrs. Theodore Russell, of Utica. In addition there are two sisters, Mrs. Alphonso Martinez, of El Paso, Texas, and Miss Cina Nichols, of Arlington, Va. There are several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Parsons was a charter member of Zenith Court, Order of Amaranth; a member of Whiteface Mt. Lodge, Order of Eastern Star; charter member of the VFW Auxiliary and a communicant of St. Luke’s the Beloved Physician Church.
The body is reposing at the A. Fortune & Co. Chapel on Church st. Funeral services will be held from the church on Saturday. The Rev. Ernest Mounsey will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Ridge cemetery.
