Misc. Notes
I believe the connection to William is through Joanna, who was listed as a servant in the Stephen Martin household in Brandon in 1860.
In 1850, H.S. Johnson is a laborer in Essex, Essex County, age 32, living with wife Lucretia, daughters Betsey, Joanna, Ellen and Lucetta (writing is clear, probably same as Loretta).
59In 1860, H.S. (which another researcher said is Henry S.) Johnson was in Harrietstown, Franklin County, which is not far from Brandon. He was 42, a farmer, with real estate worth $500 and personal estate worth $600, born in New York. With him were wife Lucretia, children Joanna, Loretta, James, Holsey, Charley, and Lorina. He is near a Freeman Johnson.
23In 1870, Henry Johnson was in Lewis, Essex County. His occupation was listed as “burns coal.” He was 52 and listed his birthplace as New York. With him were Lucretia, James, Halsey, John, and Lucina.
29In 1880, Henry Johnson is living in Elizabethtown, next to James and Celia Peck and next to Halsey and Alice Johnson. Henry is 63 and a laborer. With him are Lucretia, John, and Lucina, and a boarder named Henry Dickinson.
24In 1900, he and Lucretia are living with son Halsey’s family. Henry reports birthdate of June 1818, age of 81, and has been married 60 years.
