LAKE PLACID - Suzanne I. Thurber, 52, of Bloomingdale, passed away Friday, Nov. 2, 2012 at home.
Mrs. Thurber was born Sept. 27, 1960 in Utica. She was the daughter of Mylan Johnson and Diane Porter.
Suzanne was a member of the Vets' Club and enjoyed cooking and reading. She had a huge heart and loved to care for others.
She is survived by her mother, Diane Porter and Theodore Banks of Lake Placid; her father Robert Barney Sr. of North Carolina; her daughter Jennifer and Chris Pabins of Bloomingdale; her son K.C. Saint and Aron McLaughlin of Brasher Falls; three brothers: Bob and Sonja Barney of Lake Placid, David Barney of Lake Placid and Eddie Johnson of Schenectady; two grandchildren; Riley and Lilly Pabins of Bloomingdale; niece Brittany Barney of Miami, Fla.; nephew Christopher Barney of Lake Placid; and several cousins and dear friends.
She was predeceased by her biological father, Mylan Johnson; her stepfather Rodger Smart; her grandparents Kenneth Porter Sr. and his wife Isabelle; two uncles: Francis Porter and his wife Carol and Kenneth Porter Jr.; and her aunts: Joan Wood and Shirley Pelkey.
The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6 at M.B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home, 2310 Saranac Ave., Lake Placid with the Rev. Andrew Borden officiating. A private family burial will be in North Elba Cemetery, Lake Placid.
