Wet hair and hot tea. Ready for all that senior year has to offer. Which actually starts tomorrow, at New Visions. Today sounds like it’s mostly paperwork and library time.
This is my first year in many of NOT having a first day of school for anybody in our house . . . and since our one and only went to college far from where we lived, and then went to boarding school far from where we lived for three years before that, first day of school has long meant for me “Dad: rent me a van, load it up, and then carry lots of my stuff up many stairs, then put it where I want it, which might change several times.” It feel weird to miss this fall routine . . . though my back and knees are grateful!

I didn’t do super well with HALF an empty nest. A year from now I will, no doubt, be a mess.
