“Grovenor Ford Peck, son of Joshua and Zelida Ann (Farnham) Peck was born and raised in the town of Jay. He met and married Lillian Sanders in Upper Jay on May 14, 1909. She was the daughter of Edward and Gertrude (Wilkins) Sanders, and was born in Jay on May 8, 1891. Grovenor’s occupation was listed as a laborer and for many years was the groundskeeper at the Saranac Lake golf course. After 32 years of marriage, Grovenor and Lillian separated and were divorced on April 25, 1941. Grovenor lived with his brother Alvin and sister Julia in their mother and father’s house on Peck Hill until his death on June 8, 1946. Lillian had moved on to Schenectady, New York where she died in 1969.”96
